My Boyfriend AKA Beefcake

For the month of April, I will be participating in the A to Z blog challenge. This means that every day (except for Sunday) I'll share a blog post that coincides with the day's letter.

Yep, I went there.

I asked my boyfriend last night if I could write about him in a blog post titled 'Beefcake.' He laughed and said something to the effect of "I don't mind you writing a post about me, but I don't consider myself a beefcake."

Well, that's just a matter of opinion buddy.

I'm probably going to come off as bragging in this post; but gosh-darn-it I have been a single mom for almost 13 years. When someone like this guy comes along I feel like I should have a small right to brag.

Mostly, I want to encourage other single mommies and single ladies to realize good men are out there.

Don't settle.

I have dated and was even in a serious relationship that I had hoped would go somewhere. However, when it came down to how I really felt, I knew the guy wasn't the one. The relationship was very dysfunctional. I didn't realize how much until after it ended.

So, in December when boyfriend AKA beefcake contacted me (we've known each other for several years) I wasn't really looking. I know, I know...that's what they all say. But really, I wasn't.

It's only been a little over three months, but it feels so much longer (in a good way). He's funny, compassionate, sincere, and I know I can trust him with my feelings. These qualities in addition to his good looks make him a beefcake in my eyes.

After dealing with lying, cheating, abusive and controlling men...this is a big deal folks.
