Lifting weights...like really heavy weights.


One of the funnest parts of my weight loss/getting healthier journey is finding activities that I enjoy doing.

For several years, that included running. I ran a lot. I ran until I had seven half marathons under my belt.

Then I found a wonderful program called RIPPED that changed my body in big ways. It also started my curiosity towards weight lifting.

About six months ago, a series of events led me to a gym that specializes in powerlifting and training young athletes. At first, my training was geared towards improving my running since I had a half marathon coming up.

Because of my training at this gym, I shaved 30 minutes off my time from the last half. It was my second best time.
